5 Ways to Protect Your Furniture From Your Pets

If you are welcoming a furry friend into your home, or you already have a fur baby, we have 5 ways to make sure your beloved furniture continues to look as good as the day you brought it home!

1. Have Rules

If you want your furniture to last, its best not to allow your pet on the sofa. Some pets, like dachshunds (wiener dogs), shouldn't be on the sofa for their own health! Just make sure if you say no to the sofa, you say yes to something else. Make sure your pet has a bed of their own so they can lounge right alongside you!

2. Clean

If you can't live without the snuggles, make sure your pet and your sofa stay clean. Keep kitty off if she has messy paws, and don't let Fido jump up if he was just playing in the mud! It's a good idea to clean your furniture every week if you let your furbaby on the sofa.

3. Beware Sharp Objects

Don't let your pup sink her teeth into your table leg and keep kitty from making your sofa look like a shredded paper by redirecting their energy! Remember what we mentioned in step 1? If you say no to something, you have to say yes to something else! Make sure your doggo has a chew toy and your kitten has a scratching post. If your fur baby still misbehaves, they might have too much energy and you should look into some structured play time every day!

4. Pick Right

Your pet might be cute and perfect in your eyes, but every(paw)dy makes mistakes! Claw marks show less on fabric than leather, but leather is easier to clean when it comes to shedding.
